August & Tut's move to Heaven

Miss Tilly loves a Jeep ride too!

Who would have known this was my last month with Tut. He seemed so happy and healthy until just the day before he passed away. I cherish the many long walks we had down the driveway and the quite time on his bed.

At 12.5 years old he was my heartbeat.

Steve's father had his headstone installed.

Beautiful and simple, so fitting for Dean.

Mid-month Nana had to have some heart tests. On our way home from Gainesville, we stopped by to let Nana see Tut. Little did I know it would be their last visit.

What a special bond the two of them had.

Most kids I know do not have a nanny, but Nana was Tut's nanny.
She took amazingly good care of him when Tut and I lived alone and I was going to grad school at night and teaching during the day.

Some friends and I found huge chanterelles on our Friday dam walk.
Steve was very excited.

Sometimes Tut needed a rest under the tree before he walked back to his bed.

Daddy grows some huge sweet 'tators.

In the past few weeks Tut wanted canned dog food mixed with his dry. I think canned dog food is just nasty, so I cooked for him. I made a beef/chicken/veggie stew combo. I made lots and froze it. He just loved it. I even picked the green beans from Daddy's garden.

Just five days before his death he was playing with his sisters in the yard.

What a happy boy.

He brought such happiness in my life. It was hard to believe we were first united when I was still in college. We have been through so much together.

My sweet baby was just too tired from this earth. He gracefully left me Friday, August 31 between 8:15-8:30. I have lost my baby boy. I cannot begin to describe my loss or the joy of having 12 amazing years with him.

Tut you were and still are my world. I will think of him everyday until we are reunited.

I love you my Tut, tut. You will always be my Tuttle Wuttles and Tutttles!
