Weekend Snow

The following pictures are of the weekend snow.  The first 9 pictures were taken by mom in Frogtown.  The others were taken at our house.

Cataloochee

Thursday school was out due to the snow/ice at home.  Steve and I went to Cataloochee to ski.  This was only my second time skiing, my first was about 15 years ago.  Steve used to ski all the time, so I was able to have a personal instructor.  I had a blast.  I fell down so many times, ate the snow, slid down the hills on my rear end.  Needless to say, I have been sore for the past two days.  Steve had a few falls himself, but he really tried to hide them.

We are praying for more snow Saturday!

Steve just as we were leaving town.

Heading towards Cleveland.

Kelly all layered up.

It was very foggy when we first got there.

I had too many layers on.

Trying to cool off.

Steve had the camera for the rest of the trip,
so the following are pictures of me attempting to ski.

The following pictures were taken just after dark this evening.

Meredith Emerson

Steve and I have spent the last week glued to the TV/intenet in the search for Meredith Emerson.  I have never felt so connected to a missing persons case before.  I think what got me is that it happened so close to home in an area that  I have been many times, and of course her love for her black lab, Ella.

We are both saddened and sickened beyond believe at the outcome of the story.

May Meredith's life be meaningful to others and may Gary Michael Hilton rot in Hell.

A ride in the mountains

Yesterday Steve, Fish and I took a drive through the mountains.  We drove up 19 over to Vogel across 180 toward Suches via Dungan Ridge then down the mountain via Grassy Gap Road.  We took the Jeep so I could get it dirty in the mud.  We saw several rescue workers looking for Merdith Emerson around the Blood Mountain area.  We would both had been happy to help look, but they were only using trained personal and with the new developments in the missing person case, how was dwindling.

Fish and Kelly at a potty break for Fishy.
Duncan Ridge Road in the Coopers Creek area.  This is the home of the 2006 Jeep sledding!

Above and below: Lake Winfield Scott partially frozen .

I finally got the Jeep dirty. I went by Tritts to show Steve's gang... but they were closed..

My Jeep!

On my birthday I got a jeep.  It has been a work in progress for almost a month now.  The first few days after I got it I actually got to drive to school with the top off.  It was great.  Maybe summer will come really soon.  The photos are in reverse order, so you can see what it looks like today compared to it when it was first purchased.

Life is GOOD!

Is it summer yet? What about now?

The massive bumper for all the towing and spotlighting that I know I will be doing!
Got the "shiny" center caps today!

New tires and wheels and rock guards, but opps I forgot to order the center caps...
Notice the "Minnie Pearl" look with the tag still attached!
Gotta love the daisy tag...it give the jeep a girlie look, so maybe Steve will not want to drive it as much!

Santa Steve got me the rock guards and tire cover!

The inside is now clean and we are waiting for the tires and wheels!

This was what the poor jeep looked like while we were in the process of cleaning...I thought it I am going to keep it forever, I might as well start out with it really clean.

These are the pictures that were on Craigs list where the jeep was advertised at... It did not look too great, but I saw the potential...
