Pumpkins

Steve and I carved our Halloween pumpkins on Monday night. We have only carved pumpkins one other time, the first year we were dating.

I carved my version of Munch's "Scream".

Steve carved "Jack" the traditional pumpkin.

Our two pumpkins are hanging out together on the front porch.

Saturday in Athens

We made our annual trip to Athens this past Saturday. The UGA football team was not playing so the town was very quite. We ate at Weaver D.'s, got coffee at Jittery Joes (and brought home lots of coffee beans), then walked around downtown.

My favorite frog artist!

Veggies at Weaver D.'s!

Collards that were purchased for Ted to cook on Sunday. They were scrumptious!

Another Sunday in Frogtown at the RIver!

The leaves are just beginning to make their fall transformation and the river is up due to the large amount of recent rain. I know each fall is very busy for us, but I really believe that fall is my favorite time of the year.

Shellman Bluff - Fall Break 2009

This year we spend Fall Break in dynamic Shellman Bluff. For all those who have never heard of the place (do not worry you are not alone), it is on the GA coast between Tybee and St. Simons.

We got shrimp on our way home at Ocean's Bounty.

View from the walkway to the dock.

If you look REALLY close you can see the shrimp boats behind me.

I was walking on the island and Steve got bored so he drove the boat around to hunt for me.

You have to love that view. This was definitely one of the nicest places we have visited.

Wow! Why can't I live on the island?

LOTS of rain in September/October!

Late summer and early fall has brought us tons of much needed rain. Maybe even too much rain. The rivers and creeks were very high, but we did not have the flooding problems that occurred in the Atlanta area. Finally for the first time in five or so years we have Lake Lanier at full pool.

Somehow Steve had a nice gift left in the back of his truck. Luckily the he was found when we were at the river so we could left him go to live a happy life in the water.

The rushing water brought us another dock...

I have never seen the river this high.

The debris line was even higher than the current water line.

Wait... where is the dock?

If life gives you lemons, make lemonaid. I began to enjoy the rain!

We went fishing at Lake Lanier. I thought we might as well use our rain gear, but when we got to the lake, it stopped raining.

I wore most of my rain gear anyways!
