So much for our New Years resolution of keeping the blog updated. We have been so busy the last few weeks. We have both had colds and been working long hours. Steve has finally finished the house he had purchase to renovate and resale. He may even have it under contract! Steve's mom fell on ice and broke her collar bone almost 4 weeks ago. We have spend lots of time at her house. Both of his parents recently had a birthday, we had wonderful family dinner together. Steve's dad turned 75 and his mom turned 74. Steve is still working on his flying lessons. He got to have his first solo flight last week. He has also finished his night flying.
I have been working on an art show for my students and many of my classes are currently working with clay. That makes for very long days.
Below are random pictures from the past few weeks.

Sometimes, Fishy has to share her dog house with Steve, when he is in trouble.

Steve and I are getting final plans together to build a barn and a house. We went a few weeks ago to pick out our building spots. We plan on building a barn/shop in a few months to store all of our stuff in. We are going to build a apartment in the loft. This will eventually be Steve's office, but in the meanwhile, we will be living there. Wow, both of us and dogs in approx. 600 sq ft. That will be a real test of love!

This should be the view from our porch.

Another view from the future porch.

Daddys barn

The barn will be build on the backside of the pine trees. Our house will be just to the left side.

Steve made sushi to take to a Super Bowl party. We went the day before to several Asian markets on Buford Hwy, the Atlanta Farmers Market (Formerly known as Hong Kong Supermarket), and Buford Highway Farmers Market . Those were really cool cultural experiences. While at one we were able to find Coke and Fanta'a that were bottled in Honduras...with real sugar, on my they are soooooooo good!

Tut spends some time hanging out in the sun on a few of the recent beautiful days that we have had. Steve has had on shorts and flip flops a few times already, and I have wore sandals a few days.

Steve finally got a
molcajete. He has been making all kinds of guacamole.
Yummy!

For Steve's moms birthday I enrolled us both in a pottery class at North GA college. After we signed up, she fell and broke her collar bone. I am working to improve my skills on the wheel and she is learning to hand build. The instructor, Helen Miller, talked about burnishing the pottery. This was something I had not done before. Above is a piece that has not been fired yet. I spent last week rubbing it while standing in the hall way at school. I had many kids asking questions, so will be a learning experience for all.

Mom had been wanting an indoor dog for a while now. She had not had an inside dog since I was born. Lacey and Alan knew someone that was moving, but could not take their dog, thus I have a new brother. We think he is some kind of terrier and corgi mix. He is about 1.5 year old and weights about 8 pounds. He truly loves mom, and follows her everywhere.

Snuffy attempting to figure out the camera flash.
