Thanksgiving and more...

As many have noted I have been way behind on posting lately. I have worked long hours at school, Steve is working on remodeling the house he bought to sell and is spending his free time learning how to fly. Were do we begin... lets say with Thanksgiving.
I only had school two days the week of Thanksgiving. I was going to make a quick shopping trip to the ATL area on Tuesday evening when I received a call that mom was at the ER with chest pains and her blood pressure was doing weird things. After tons of med the Drs. finally got the pains stopped but she did spend the night in ICU. The next day we were send to the heart center for a cath, to insure there was no blockage. To our relieve there was not any blockage. She was feeling much better, only really tired but had to say another night as a precaution. I stayed at the hospital both nights, getting thirty min sleep one night and a few hours the next. Needless to say I was exhausted on Thanksgiving.
We had dinner at Forest Hills Resort Restaurant with Steve's family, then went off to my grandmothers to eat with my moms family. Mom was still tired, but at least she did not have to cook. I fell asleep several times in the truck going to each place. We had planned to go see the lighting of Richs Great Tree as we had done may years before, so I went for a "brief" nap and did not get up until it was too late. I felt really bad, because I think Steve was really looking forwards to going, but we watched it on tv with his parents instead.
On Friday morning moms uncle passes away, so we got to do the funeral home stuff. I did not go shopping as most of my gifts were already purchased. I did have some time to get up Christmas decorations in the house. I also worked on a few handmade sup rise gifts.
Monday mom found out that her heart problems were really more serious than originally thought. Her heart seemed to be having spasms. This condition normally caused a massive heart attack or stroke. She was VERY lucky to have had neither. The Dr. said this condition may never happen again to her, but gave her meds to take just in case it does.
Steve and I have stopped by a few places at Lake Lanier just to see for ourselves how low the lake really is. We were surprised to see the boat dock we used on the 4th of July was not totally out of the water.
While out and about over the past few weeks, we drove by Piedmont. I took photos of the lake and new
performing arts center. There was a play there this weekend, but we missed it.

The photos are in random order.

We put the boat in here on the 4th

We got in and out of the boat here.

As I mentioned earlier Steve is taking lesson for his private pilots license. He has about 7 hours under his belt. He needs about 60 hours to get all the training complete. He thinks I should get mine next, but I am not so sure...
I do not have any pics of him as I forgot to take any Saturday at the airport.

School is out Dec. 14 for the holidays so I am certain that I will be very busy at least until then.

Take care and enjoy the festive holiday season!

outside again

This weekend was spend mostly outside. I can not believe how wonderful the weather has been although we could use some rain. Steve and I attended an outdoor festival just below the house. In the picture below I am sporting the hat Steve got me last Christmas.
Fishy was able to go with us again this weekend. I have no other pictures as I did not take the camera. ( I hate to carry the big bulky camera. I really need to get a compact one!)

With the time change, I am getting very sleepy and expecting another very busy week.
