The flights were all great.. no problems. We arrive at the airport in ATL around 5, so needless to say we near the first in line for security. We arrived at the international airport, then took a taxi to the boat dock. There we got the water taxi to Caye Caulker. It was really hot, and our room had 3 windows and 2 fans, but we did have a small color TV. We spend most of the evening walking around the small town. We found out that a 2x8x12 piece of mahogany could be purchased for $11US.

Saturday
June 2

We checked in at the resort. We did not have a phone (or TV) in the room, so I had to come into town to use the internet or phone. It was really hot and of course humid. We ate a late lunch/early dinner. We are played around town then crashed. We did find time to stop by the produce stand to get a huge pineapple for $3.oo US.
Sunday
June 3

Steve got up early and went bone fishing with no luck.
Finally we were able to get some sleep in a room with ac. No fish, but we did see a HUGE starfish! We have played on the golf cart all day. It was really interesting to see how the town had changed in just a year. I really had fun, since it was my day to drive the golf cart. Steve always drives too fast over the holes and bumps in the road. I an certain that all of my internal organs are bruised.
Monday
June 4

Steve (FINALLY) caught a bone fish.
We spent the day driving the golf cart up the north road. We drove forever, I think we logged about 50 miles on the cart today... We were only about 10 miles from Mexico!
Steve caught a really nice bone fish. It is totally a sports fish, not anything you would eat. The locals think people are crazy for fishing for them.... It was maybe 18 inches long and went for 2 really long runs. It run to the backing on the fly rod. Needless to say he was really happy. . We were gone for about 7 hours doing that. We then went into town to look for something for dinner... Most places do not open until 7 or 7:30 home time.
Tuesday
June 5

Steve caught a snook today at the croc hole. We got up about 5 and fished for a few hours. We hooked up on several tarpon and snook, but only got one. The croc was watching us the entire time. After breakfast/lunch at Neri's (tacobell south) we headed back to the room to kayak to the reef from our room and snorkel. Steve was out for a bit and I swear I saw two HUGE fins and had him come to the boat and we went in. Looking back, I think it must have just been two nurse sharks, or maybe it was two tiger sharks...? We then came into town to play around. It is really windy, so a breeze is nice. We have met lots of nice locals and are getting good fishing dinning advice!
Wednesday
June 6
We went out fishing early, but a huge rain storm came in. We went to the room, and after the rain Steve fished around the resort and I rode the bike and played in the hammock. We came in to town for some food and to do our "tourist" shopping. We were wanted to stay in town to watch the "World Famous Chicken Drop" but we were too tired, maybe next time. We will have a full day here tomorrow and we will be leaving the island around noon on Friday.
Thursday
June 7

We got up this morning and tried to fish for tarpon and snook. It was still too windy. Actually the wind is blowing like crazy today. I dont think we will be able to snorkle this afternoon. All is well and our tummies are felling lots better! Steve discovered a great treatment for a sick stomach... pour 6-8 oz of coke (with real sugar if you can find it) in a tumbler, them add the juice from half of a large lime. Sip on the coke over the next thirty minutes. This mixture works best if drank at room temp.

June 8

The "front street" in San Pedro early Friday morning.

This was one of the several dog that we thought must have been an offspring of Zeck. We refered to these dogs with attitude as "Zeck South." At this time, we did not know that Zeck had passed away. Zeck we will miss you!
Home…well maybe. Friday morning Steve went to the Croc hole to fish. I tried to sleep in for I knew I had a long day ahead of me. We packed up, headed down the North Road and into town for the last time this year. We ate at all of our favorite places, before returning the golf cart and boarding Tropic Air for Belize City. This time we flew into Belize Munizalvbe and took a taxi to the international air port. This was Steve's way of saving money. I did my savings on the boat ride to the island, when we arrived. The American Airlines flights were really long, as we were delayed in Maimi, and did not arrive in ATL until after midnight, and then had trouble finding our bag. It was close to three when we finally arrived home...It was great to finally be in our bed after such a long day.
