April 2013

April 2013
Our Savannah Banana

After my half marathon, my knee was hurting so I just hung out in the yard while Steve cleaned the boat from spring break.

Fish at bath time. She look scared.

Savannah was not thrilled with her mommy after her bath.

Crates had his first inside bath.
He was not sure what to think about the entire experience.

The day after his inside bath, he decided to give himself a bath in the nasty hot tub.
Not the spa experience that I had planned for him.

Sometimes I just exhaust little Fishy girl.

Smores and a fire, another one of my favorite things.

After eating a wonderful tuna dish in the Keys, I recreated it at home - tuna, seaweed, spring salad mix, soy, teriyaki and wasabi.

We took the little boat to Lumpkin County Park.
It was all good until something happened with the motor.

Luckily we had not gone far so the paddle back to the ramp was not too tiring.

A wonderful hike near Highlands, NC

Steve and I had a blast running the Extreme Ranger.

It was our first mud run.

Hopefully it will not be our last.
I am not sure we have ever been so dirty in our lives.

Poor little Fishy. She just can not keep up with her parents.

Nana's peonies

Nana always has such wonderful flowers.

I had another great art show to celebrate Youth Art Month.

Our first paddle of the year is always a great sign that spring and summer are just around the corner.

We found a HUGE snapping turtle.

river time is the best time

The moon is still full and high even after sunrise.

My Nana on her 86th birthday.

Sometimes Fish is just too tired to play.

My Nanny Ruth and her big brother.
He is 90 and she is 89.

I always love a morning hike to Preacher Rock.

Our little Aussie left us to play with his brothers and sisters in Heaven.
He passed away peacefully in his hammock.
He was such a silly little squirrel.

Preachers Rock on the AT

Steve and I had several meals of oysters this winter. We are very fortunate to find amazing Apalachicola oysters at Atlanta Highway Seafood Market in Gainesville, GA

Steve's mom wanted to go to Roosters for wings for her birthday dinner.

Sabalo enjoyed some inside time when it was cold outside.

Steven loves his fish!

Steve and I took a Jeep ride through the forestry service roads to find the swing bridge that goes over the Toccoa River.

Steve on the Benton MacKaye trail.
Our favorite little critter, Aussie.  He as such a happy little dude.
We were honored to have three and a half years as his parents.
I bake, but Martha Steward should have not fear... I could use a bit more practice.
I love sunsets, especially winter time sunsets.

Jan. 2013

Daddy and I took a wonderful morning hike from the base of Blood Mountain to Hog Pen Gap.

It was a beautiful foggy cool morning.

We have had so much rain.
Notice the benches that are almost submerged at Yahoola Park.

Steve had an amazing New Years dinner of collards and black eyed peas prepared when I returned from my cruise.

We had a snow day so I made an impromptu trip to Fort Walton Beach with a friend.

Gotta love being warm when everyone else is iced in at home.

I am loving winter at the beach.

Fort Walton Beach

While having my winter leg injury I picked up crocheting.
I can only make scarfs, but I am happy with my results.

Kelly's post Christmas cruise

I went on a post Christmas cruise with a wonderful group of friends.
We flew to Miami and cruised to Jamaica and the Grand Caymans.
