Honduran Tamales

Steve and I were invited to dinner last week by a co-worker of mine.  He is from Mexico and his wife is from Honduras.  Maria, his wife, and her sister spent the entire day creating authentic tamales, just the way their mom makes back home.  Unfortunately I did not take any photos at their house, but I do have images of the ones that were sent home with us.

They were made out of a corn base with potatoes, rice and pork.

They were steamed wrapped in banana leaves. (You don't eat the leaves....I asked.)

They were so good.  We hope to be invited again really soon!

Do you think that your friend, Maria, would give you the recipe for making the Honduran Tamales? I am looking for an authentic Honduran Tamales recipe. Could you help?
