Fall Break 2008, St. Simons, GA

POST IN PROGRESS!

Wow! Gas was $2.79.  That was a nice contrast to the $4.00+ a few weeks ago and the $3.39 at home when we left.

I wanted our rope to be pretty like the rope on the Hatteras across from us, so I coiled it.
At least our rope is more colorful.
Steve just says that my OCD is kicking in more than normal.

For dinner we at

Steve and Mary had breakfast at Burger King and I went next door to Starbucks.

Mary, just after a brief rain.

I caught a red fish and Steve did not!

Steve eating his bucket of "shuck'em yourself oysters at the Oyster Shak in Brunswick.
It was really good.  I would recommend it to anyone in the area.  See a menu here.

We had dinner at The Crab Trap.
This place is a staple on our St. Simons trips. We have to eat there at least one. Sorry we took no pictures.

A really pretty tree

Our shrimp!  Will we have boiled shrimp or hot shrimp? Hummmm, I don't know.

The complete bed and a rainbow

Steve's mom finished the pillow and now the bed is complete.  I am thinking that I need another painting to go above the bed...I should either begin painting or shopping!

Earlier this week we had our first significant rain fall in several weeks.  As it was clearing up the sun illuminated the sky, allowing the fall leaves to shine and creating a beautiful rainbow.

and...

Snuffy sporting his "Bad to the Bone" shirt that Gloria and Glenn got for him.
Snuffy is really bad to the bone...

Snuff in the green shirt.

Snuf and his Christmas shirt.

That's my little brother!

Steve and Fish playing while his mom admires the quilt (and questions if another color/style of bed skirt would look best).
The quilt...
Notice the Greek pattern in the center and on the edges.

Wait, where did daddy go???

I promise, I see deer.

I think I wanna swing in the hammock.

I even have to push myself.

Hammock view.

Our quilt , made by Steve's mom.
WOW, it is truly amazing.

Steve Jeep in not currently insured and just hangs out in the back yard, hoping to be loved again one day.

I washed all of our dirty summer shoes.

This was the stack of journal articles I had to read for my silly lit review for my large research paper.  I finished the second research class and began the law and ethics class yesterday.

The Krups... I think our favorite espresso maker is dying.

Steve looks at the deer that hang out at the "sanctuary" each evening.
NO HUNTING ALLOWED!!!!!

The line for gas at Kroger in Dawsonville.  This was on Tuesday, before the crisis began.  I did not even realize until later that week that there was a problem.  Fortunately I have almost a full tank in the Jeep and truck and did not have to wait in a crazy line.  I did not go any place but work and back for a week though.

Steve and Savannah  on the hammock.

Steve made the perfect cap-lat in a mug that I made.
*A cap-lat is my favorite drink, a little more foam than a cappuccino, but not as much as a latte.
