Buddy and Fishy

We spent the day in Frogtown. Fishy was so excited. She had not been to the river in several weeks.

What a bizarre start to a weekend. Buddy is the baby squirrel that we found in the middle of the road on Friday. We think he is about a month old. We have been feeding him puppy formula (via the info on many websites) we also let him munch on part of a cracker. We think we are going to keep him until he is about 8 weeks old and able to live outside on his own. Steve is being an awesome mother/father. He makes sure Buddy is fed with 6cc of warm milk 4 times a day. The dogs have not really met Buddy. Fishy has walked by us a couple of times while we were holding him, but she totally ignores him. We would like for them to become buds at some point, but I don't know.

More pictures of Fishy at the river that I could not get moved to the top of the page.

Still working on the floor

Our entire weekend has been spent working on the floor. It has been a great learning experience and in some strange way it has been fun as well. While getting ready to put the furniture back I have spent some time doing "spring cleaning", hopefully stuff I want have to re-do before putting the house on the market later this year.
Yes, Mommy. I do like the new floor very much, but it is a bit hard. Is there anything we can do about that? How about a new blankey?
Are ya'll done yet? I really want to go swimming. All this work is such a bore.

Steve still hammering away.
Steve not working. He thinks he have poor working conditions and wages!
Fishy is in "jail" after eating or hiding two small pieces of molding.

Belize and Felix

Please be sure to keep the people of Belize in your thoughts and prayers as Felix nears. It is such a wonderful country with great people (as I am sure all countries are)For recent updates from Ambergris Caye (our little island) please view Taco Girl's Blog.

GO.... GA BULLDAWGS

Gosh, I really wish the game would start, Luren would shut up and let Larry Munson talk.
Still waiting...
Steve and his only "little brother," Alan, watching the game in Alan's "dawghouse".

Daisy attemting to figure out what they keep yelling about!

Let Us Labor this Weekend

There is no better time to begin a large house project than Labor Day Weekend. We have chosen to put hardwood flooring in the dining and living rooms of the house. We started earlier in the week and are making great progress. I hope we are finished and all the mess cleaned up by Monday night!

Bo

This is Bo, Fishy brother. He was the only male black lab in the litter. He lives in FL. Fishy is really upset that he has a pool and she does not. We have also seen pictures of Arky, whose new name is Shay. She looks identical to Fishy. I am not sure if I could tell them apart without their collars. And yes, Shay has a pool.

Fishy says, "My life just sucks!"

This week in review

We thought about kayaking today...we even loaded the boats in the truck, but it rained. After the brief thunderstorm, we were to lazy. Hey, at least they got the dust off of them.
Fishy really likes the crazy looks she gives to me when I have the camera.
Steve can give crazy looks too.

This is her serious look.

I continued with "Doggie Playtime" at 8 o'clock sharp this week.

Tut attempting to flee from Fishy and Savannah. He says they are just too hyper.
Fishy really likes the computer. She is always interested to see the blog.

Steinahatchee, Fl

We took a really short weekend fishing and scalloping trip this past weekend. Steve and Alan went down on Thursday night and Lacey and I drove down after work on Friday. There were some boat problems on Friday (they had to be towed in by the tow boat), but Steve had it all up and running by Saturday.

Fishy stayed with her grandfather, and had a campout with her doggie dad, Rush in the kennel. Steve's mom took care of Tut, Savannah and Crates. Daisy, Lacey's dog stayed with our parents. She even got to sleep in the bed with dad...

A great time was had by all, but we were ready to get back to work in order to get some rest!

Wow!

Wow, It is really hard to believe that just ten years ago this month, I was beginning college. I saw a sign that read something to the effect of College 07 sale, and I was like not long ago did that say '97. Time really flies when you are busy and enjoying each day of life.

School is going really well this year. I have a new schedule that allows me to see each class an additional 90 minutes a week, which is really cool. The hard part is my loss of much planning time. What I have now is approx. 2 thirty min. segments. I am really working hard to use my time wisely and recruit volunteers. Please let me know if you know anyone that can help out in the room.

All the children are going great. I think they miss spending all day with their mommy. They like it better when I am the stay at home mom. I think they like that better than their stay at home dad that they have during the school year - but don't tell Steve!
